I think tha buying a second hand Concept 2 rowing machine is well worth is so long as you know a little about getting used equipment. About a year ago I made the plunge and bought a new Concept 2 rower. I did this because I was getting really annoyed with having to pay so much for the gym and I didn’t really feel like I was getting anywhere.
The issue was that I had never bought much used or second hand stuff before so I just went ahead and paid for a brand new one. Then a couple of months later my buddy got a really cheap second hand Concept rower which was just as good as mine! I’m telling you there really was hardly no difference apart from the price tag.
So now that I’m thinking of extending my home gym and perhaps getting a treadmill and an exercise bike, I will 100% be looking for used and second hand ones! But before you leap into buying something second hand, you should always do the research behind the item. For instance, I am already part of forums where I have been chatting to people who own the treamill that I’m interested in so that I know what to check for when I take a look at the next piece of used fitness equipment that I buy.
